A recent visit to Air Niugini’s Port Moresby workshop was a great reminder that behind every aircraft departure is a dedicated team of engineers, technicians and Ground Support Equipment professionals working behind the scenes to keep operations running safely and efficiently.
OEM Group® CEO Vincent Allegere recently visited the Air Niugini GSE workshop to catch up with Mika John Loko, Manager – GSE, and the wider Air Niugini engineering team as the airline continues the rollout of its Airbus A220 fleet.
Pictured is an OEM GSE A220 Hydraulic Passenger Stair supporting Air Niugini’s Airbus A220 fleet expansion. Purpose-built for the A220 platform, the unit assists with safe and efficient passenger boarding and disembarkation across the airline’s growing network.
The visit also highlighted the ongoing role of the OEM GSE Stretcher DPL, which continues to support the safe and dignified transfer of passengers requiring medical assistance or reduced mobility.
“It’s always valuable to spend time with the people using our equipment every day,” said Vincent Allegre, CEO of OEM Group®. “Air Niugini’s A220 fleet expansion is an exciting step forward for aviation in Papua New Guinea, and we’re pleased to support the team with equipment designed for the operational demands of the fleet.”
As Air Niugini continues its fleet modernisation program, OEM Group® remains committed to delivering specialised Ground Support Equipment through the OEM GSE range, supporting safety, accessibility and operational efficiency across airport environments.
We thank Mika and the entire Air Niugini GSE team for their ongoing partnership and look forward to supporting the airline’s continued growth.
