Location: Solomon Mine
Challenge:
The client required a comprehensive asset management solution for 470 existing access platforms. Many assets were untracked, in poor condition, or non-compliant, impacting operational efficiency and safety.
Solution:
Over 12 months, OEM Group® conducted a thorough asset registration and inspection process. Of the 470 original assets, 336 were registered and inspected. This process identified:
- 134 assets as lost, irreparable, or non-compliant
- 19 assets repaired on-site during inspections
To streamline future management, all asset data was consolidated into a centralised system, and quarterly inspections were scheduled to ensure ongoing asset integrity and compliance.
Outcomes:
- Increased asset availability by over 25%.
- Improved tracking and condition monitoring through a centralised database.
- Enhanced compliance and operational reliability.
Testimonial:
“We have been working with OEM Group since February 2020. They not only track our asset availability but also repair damaged mobile equipment. Knowing what platforms we have onsite means we can complete the maintenance properly without loosing downtime.
Not only did we receive excellent service from OEM Group, our asset availability on site has improved, which has increased safety and improved our maintenance. The online database and quarterly reports are detailed and easy to understand too.
The new tags OEM Group have implemented are also water resistant so when the assets are washed, the details and asset number do not get washed away.am very satisfied with the way OEM Group is managing our on-site assets and looking forward to continuing into the future.”
