OEM Group® hosted Horiguchi Engineering Co. Ltd., a Japanese engineering and manufacturing company, at the OEM Group® Perth manufacturing facility. The visit also included representatives from a Japanese airline with long‑term operational use of Disability Passenger Lift (DPL) equipment.
The visit was conducted to inspect four completed OEM GSE Disability Passenger Lift (DPL) units, including build quality, structural design, and key components. Discussion covered how the units are engineered and assembled, and how the design supports operation across different aircraft types.
Inside the OEM Group® Perth Facility
During the visit, the group toured the 12,000+ square metre OEM Group® Perth facility, where engineering, procurement, fabrication, assembly, and testing are conducted. OEM Group® also outlined Equipment Supply & Servicing Solutions , including post‑delivery support, maintenance, and lifecycle requirements, and covered the capability to deliver Custom Solutions, based on specific operational and site requirements across aviation and other industries.
Visitors met team members across engineering and fabrication functions. The visit included a walkthrough of day‑to‑day work activities and processes applied across the facility.
“Having partners and end users on site allows them to see how the equipment is built and assembled,” said Peter Fleay, Manager – Delivery, OEM Group®. “It provides visibility of the processes and the teams involved.”
Looking Ahead
Following the technical program, OEM Group® hosted the visiting group at locations across Perth as part of the visit schedule. The visit reinforces the working relationship between OEM Group® and Horiguchi Engineering and provides context for how existing manufacturing capabilities extend across aviation and beyond.
