Using High Pressure Cleaning Equipment Training Session in Yard

Joining forces with Site Skills Training, one of WA’s leading registered training organisations, OEM Group is part of an exciting initiative to upskill job seekers who are actively looking for work.

“OEM Group understand the potential safety risks of high-pressure cleaning equipment. So, we’re proud to deliver the UHP training course at our facility in Perth. The course is designed to make participants aware of the dangers of using pressure cleaners and in deeming them as competent operators” said Ryan de Mol from OEM Group.

OEM Group provides a purpose-built training bay, all the high-pressure equipment and accessories, along with professional onsite expertise. With a structured two-day timetable created by the team at Site Skills Training, the motivated trainees learn to use High Pressure Washers in a safe and productive manner.

As part of their Upskill program, a collaborative effort between Indigenous Managed Services (IMS) and Site Skills Training, a cluster of units are offered to help Job Active people become competent in a range of entry-level mining roles. Providing a range of programs, including Working at Heights and Working in Confined Spaces, the UHP (Use of High Pressure) Training module is tailor-made for entry-level mine-site employment.

Andrew Helene, Business Development Manager at Site Skills Training WA, said “the team at OEM Group have complemented our Water Blasting Training module perfectly. They’ve created a training bay, with industrial standard high-pressure cleaners, to allow hands-on training”.

Ryan de Mol from OEM Group explained, “We’ve also set-up a UHP Training Room upstairs, complete with desks, chairs and white board to respond to the academic side of the SST training timetable. Over the two days of training, each group is learning practical skills outside and also inside in an office setting. It’s an excellent environment to offer the very best training possible”.

“At the end of the program, each participant earns a UHP Certificate of Attainment from Site Skills Training. UHP skills are vital if they want to apply for mining jobs. UHP training is now an entry-level skill for all people entering the mining industry” said Ryan.

“A valued partner with SST in this Upskill program, Anita Dearle from IMS works closely with Job Active. IMS connects job seekers with the training program and paves the way for real employment opportunities. Anita also ensures any barriers to Indigenous participation are minimised. As mining companies seek to expand their Indigenous workforce, we’re connecting Aboriginal job seekers with industry leaders like OEM Group, training them up to be job ready” continued Andrew.

“With the valued assistance of Indigenous Managed Services, together with our growing partnership with the Wirrpanda Foundation, we’re proud to see more Indigenous job seekers upskill and prepare for long-term mining careers” he added.

This initiative is another example of OEM Group’s state-wide renown as the high-pressure washer specialists. With the full range of Spitwater washers available for sale, the team at OEM group also design and build custom-made trailer-mounted pressure cleaner units. To learn more, call 9270 0200.
