Challenge:
A mining operation required a safe and efficient method to access the inside of MP1000 and XL1100 cone crusher bowls used for iron ore crushing. Previously, personnel relied on two separate ladders, one outside the bowl and one inside, to perform maintenance. This approach was inefficient, suboptimal, and posed significant safety risks during ingress and egress.
Solution:
OEM Group® delivered a purpose-built Cone Crusher Bowl Access Platform. The aluminium platform features a sliding ladder system and integrated wheels, allowing safe and controlled access to both the top and interior of the crusher bowl. The lightweight and mobile system eliminates the need for multiple ladders and is compatible with both MP1000 and XL1100 bowls.
Outcome:
The platform improved safety by providing stable, single-point access, reducing the risk of falls and manual handling incidents. Maintenance tasks are now faster and more efficient, with simplified ingress and egress. The mobile design allows easy relocation across site, supporting ongoing operational productivity.
